Sunstone is a type of Feldspar which gets its unique light refracting properties from a combination of inclusions and internal crystal structures.

COMMON GEM COLORS: Usually golden orange, sometimes red.

HARDNESS ON MOH'S SCALE: 6 to 6.5

SHAPES FOR CUTTING: Generally cut to round or oval cabochons, but sometimes faceted in emerald cut.
