Extremely rare and only recently discovered, Pezzottaite was approved as a valid mineral species in 2003.

Sometimes referred to as "Raspberyl" due to its raspberry-like color.

COLOR: RED to PINK

HARDNESS ON MOH'S SCALE: 8

SHAPES FOR CUTTING: Best suited to polished cabochons, to take advantage of the mineral's chatoyancy.
