This gemstone was first discovered in Danbury, Connecticut, hence the name "Danburite".

COMMON GEM COLORS: Usually colorless; sometimes pink.

HARDNESS ON MOH'S SCALE: 7 with good toughness.

SHAPES FOR CUTTING: Suitable for all facet shapes. Its optical properties yield spectacular results when quantum cuts are used.
